Today is my Mother, Lorraine's birthday. She is 60 - can you even believe that? She is aging quite well I must say! One gorgeous woman inside and out. I am so proud to call her my mom. I wanted to introduce you all to her just in case you had not met her yet. She is the artist on our latest line of printed cards which we have labeled "The Lorraine Collection"
We are super happy about this line of cards and hope to refine the line down to our best sellers which will go to Market in the future. This is a dream come true for us in a couple of different ways.
As a teenager I would tell mom that she should be in Hallmark with her gorgeous water color paintings. I knew that she should be in the card world. I remember her saying, "Dara, I don't know the first thing about doing that." Well, here we are with a line of cards that we dreamed up together and it was so fun to create. And here's a little secret for ya, We are working on a better variety of ethnicity to add to this line, so stay tuned.
Grandmother let me know that Mom drew with depth of field at the age of 2 years old. I believe that everyone has God given talents, and creativity is definitely one of moms. She loved to doodle and draw just for fun growing up. Whenever we were younger she would draw us pictures on little notes and slip them in our lunch boxes. (Part of our inspiration for Lunch Box Love Notes). Now she creates amazing hand drawn Valentines and Birthday's for her grand-kids.
Thank you, Mom, for using your talents for good. Thank you for teaching me that it's not worth doing if you're not going to do it right. Thank you for raising us in a creative home that there was never a dull moment in. I hope that your creative juices rub off on me more and more in the years to come. I love you! Happy Birthday!
